In the Sims, Mimi first shows up at the beginning of Reality Bites if your sim is a female. If your sim is a male, Dudley, her brother will show up instead. After you complete Reality bites, Mimi will invite the player to be her roommate. Unlike many other sims in the game, Mimi is unwilling to skill-build, change careers, clean up, cook meals using the fridge, and answer the phone, much like her brother Dudley. But she is willing to eat snacks, grill, and go to work. Mimi is also in the Party Motel 2-player game mode as the 1st player's partner in the stage.

Mimi is also on the Slacker career starting out as a Golf Caddie but, usually get promoted to Convenience Store Clerk after going to work the first time. She will not get promoted to the next promotion, no matter how hard the player tries. Mimi also has 7 cooking skill points which is odd as she is not willing to skill build but, the most likely reason is to stop fires from happening if she uses the outdoor grill at her house. She also has no personality points much like other NPCs. Mimi is also in the Party Motel 2-player game mode as the 1st player's partner in the stage.
