Clinging to the spray-lashed rocks with its broad, clawed feet is the peculiar, salamander-like limusaur. Flabby temnospondyl amphibians, remarkably adapted to survive in the salty water, limusaurs graze the splash zone, scrapping mussels and other shellfish from the rocks with their stone-hard teeth. The pudgy oddballs tear the entire shellfish loose from its anchorage in bunches and swallow the pulp shards, shell and all. Tough-walled guts protect them from the bite of the shells as they pass through. Predators include Tartarusaurus.
