- Bad news: We are in Pinstripe's power plant, and his henchmen don't let you pass easily!- Level description Toxic Waste (ドラムかん ステップ lit. Drumcan Step in Japanese) is the twenty-first level (including boss fights) and is the fourth level of the third island in the original Crash Bandicoot game. As the name suggests, it is full of toxic waste and is the only type of level to take use a lot of it. Pinstripe's minions throw barrels of toxic waste to stop Crash. Some barrels just roll while others bounce. It is considered to be one of the hardest levels in the game. The blue gem is obtained here for breaking every crate.
- Toxic Waste is the archenemy of The Combiner. It is although ironic since Toxic Waste made him a superhero.
- On the 20th of August 2015, developer @Seth accidentally handed out the Toxic Waste block itself to the public during the seventh day of the Player Appreciation Week (Super Mod Dance Party), resulting in it becoming a rare item.
- Toxic Waste is the second episode of SpongeBob: When The Horror Struck.
- The inevitable byproduct of many of the industrial processes used by the different colonies is Toxic Waste. While some companies specialize in waste removal or elimination, many companies still use the more basic but still effective method of simply dumping Toxic Waste into the nearest available stellar body.
* Best Buy: Battleship Rio Grande @ 2 Credits

- Toxic waste in the Fallout games typically comes in two varieties. The first acts as an impassable barrier, like that found near the Gun Runners fortress in Fallout. The second, which can be found in places like the toxic caves in Fallout 2, hinders the player character's movement and causes damage. This unfortunate effect can be negated - temporarily - through the use of rubber boots. The liquid version of FEV used for dipping in the Mariposa Military Base looks a lot like plain old toxic waste. It's a bit more shiny, though.

The second, which can be found in places like the toxic caves in Fallout 2, hinders the player character's movement and causes damage. This unfortunate effect can be negated - temporarily - through the use of rubber boots. As a piece of setting, the toxic waste in the Fallout games is very nondescript. It's green and it's gooey . . . probably because toxic waste is generally described in pulp fiction as nondescript gooey green stuff. Often, the waste is heavily irradiated, such as in the Toxic Waste Dump special encounter in Fallout 2, but sometimes it's completely harmless. The Gun Runners apparently lived pretty much right in the middle of toxic waste for a long time without any extreme effects. The liquid version of FEV used for dipping in the Mariposa Military Base looks a lot like plain old toxic waste. It's a bit more shiny, though.
