However, due to his tenacity and the encouragement from his Uncle, Orlando, he persevered and won his opportunity to try his skills in the Valley of Trials. His success there granted him his status of warrior. In Durotar, he met a forsaken. After initially being on his guard, he found the forsaken, Ulgoroth, to be wise and particularly helpful to the young, upcoming warrior. With the warlock's guidance, Sten joined the Ani Ayastigi and fought battles over Azeroth and Draenor in the service to the Horde. The working of saronite and forays into Ulduar changed this warrior. Whispers dominated his consciousness and Yogg Saron's perceived grip tightened over the young orc. As detailed in Fade to Black, Sten is convinced that the old God now has permanent residency in his mind. Stenriht is extremely loyal to the Ani Ayastigi and the Horde. Personally, though, he agrees with many of Garrosh Hellscream's views of the Alliance and relishes battle with them. He also mistrusts the Argent Crusade, believing that the Crusade, as a political entity, will seek to dominate both the Horde and Alliance after Arthas falls.
