Upon fearing that her role would be discovered, Simons returned to Smith's home and attempted to remove the speaker and radio to cover up her involvement but at the same time, NCIS Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Caitlin Todd arrived, intending to find evidence in regards to their investigation. Simons abandoned her attempt and proceeded to use a shotgun to fire several random shots at them, forcing the two Agents to duck for cover before they invaded the house, their guns drawn. Simons however escaped through an open window in Jessica's bedroom before slashing the tires to make sure that they wouldn't be able to follow her. Despite this, she and Reynolds were both eventually exposed, arrested and presumably jailed.
