The was a wool top worn by most enlisted men of the German Luftwaffe during World War II. It was a replacement to the M35 Fliegerbluse which didn't have pockets; the M40 was worn by paratroopers, pilots and ground force infantry. It served the Luftwaffe until the end of the war.
