Harold Morley is a Shakespearean actor working with Hamlin's company. He is a stout, little man with a surprisingly deep voice and is almost totally bald. He had several wigs made by expert wigmaker Kauffman one of which was used as a disguise in various crimes around Bayport. However, it transpired that the wig had been stolen from Morley when his dressing room was robbed during a performance one night. In addition, at the time of the theft Hamlin's company were working a three-week run at the Crescent Theater where Morley was playing Launcelot Gobbo in The Merchant of Venice, giving him a perfect alibi.
