| - Pickups After defeating the Fort William Canadiens in the western Memorial Cup semi finals, the Rangers were allowed three pick-ups from the MJHL. The Rangers selected defenseman Ken Stephanson from the Winnipeg Braves, center Bryan Hextall and right winger Gerry Kell from the Brandon Wheat Kings. In game 6, forward Reil was the extra. Kamstra replaced the injured Trosky for the first five, and Arsney was inserted on D for three. Micklash was injured in game 6, and missed the deciding game 7. In the west final, the Rangers dressed 10 forwards and 4 defensemen in the first four games. In game 5, 11 forwards and only 3 defensemen. Shalley was out for the first four because of university exams, replaced on the first line by Hextall. Stephanson replaced Olsen on the blue line, and Kell was 10th forward. In game 2, Toyne was injured and finished, Trosky reinjured however returned for game 5. Replaced in lineup by Hayes and Kamstra, Kell moved to second line.
