abstract
  • In 1978 the magazine launched its first Car of the Year award winners, giving car buyers advice on the best models to buy, and this has since been an annual - and eagerly awaited - feature. In 1996, the website, www.whatcar.com, was launched. What Car? also had an Australian edition entitled (more correctly, in terms of grammar) Which Car?, which was published between 1995 and 2000 by ACP Magazines, who also publish the popular Wheels Magazine. It was initially a monthly publication, then quarterly, then bi monthly; it was a very successful magazine at first, but its readership began to decrease and it ceased publication in 2000. More recently What Car? launched an edition, published in India every two months.
