Brian McCutcheon (born August 3, 1949 in Toronto, Ontario) was a professional ice hockey centre who played 37 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the Detroit Red Wings. He is now the associate coach of the Buffalo Sabres. He played for Cornell University from 1968 to 1971. Undrafted by the NHL, McCutcheon signed as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings in 1971. McCutcheon played in the Wings' system for his entire pro career. He got into 37 games for Detroit from 1974 to 1977, scoring 3 goals and 1 assist. He retired in 1978.

McCutcheon played in the Wings' system for his entire pro career. He got into 37 games for Detroit from 1974 to 1977, scoring 3 goals and 1 assist. He retired in 1978. After retiring he went into coaching. First he worked in Austria and then at Elmira College. From 1987 to 1995 he was the head coach of his alma mater Cornell. In 1995-96 he was an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Ice Dogs and then was the head coach of the Columbus Chill in 1996-97. He then spent three seasons as head coach of the Rochester Americans. Since 2001 McCutcheon has been with the Buffalo Sabres, first as an assistant coach, then as an associate coach.
