However, they are expensive, and you might spend much more money on your armor than on any other equipment piece.

  • Armors are your primary damage-reducing equipment in Nodiatis. Each piece of armor has associated with it some degree of protection, known as armor class (AC); higher AC reduces your hitpoint loss when you are attacked. Most armor pieces also confer some kind of stat bonus or other effect. All armor pieces come in sets. Each set is comprised of a helmet, a chestpiece, sleeve, leggings and shield, and are coordinated both aesthetically and by name. Pieces in a set all have the same level requirement in Suiting, or in the case of shields, Blocking. Wearing a complete set does not confer any additional bonuses to those given by individual pieces. Armor pieces are dropped by defeated monsters, purchased from the armory found in each town, or synthesized by crafters. If paid players sell armo

The following are the strongest:
  • Armors help protect a player from damage. The armor attribute starts at zero percent and may go as high as 200 percent (or, in versions of Doom on and before 1.2, a much larger value). The armor value is a percentage in relation to the protective value of the green armor item the player may pick up, or 100 hit points. The current armor percentage is shown on the status bar. The armor percentage is reduced when the player absorbs damage due to enemy attacks or environmental hazards (damaging floors, exploding barrels, pods, or crushing ceilings).
  • Armors protect the wearer by increasing their DV and PV. Certain types of armor, however, may decrease DV (usually heavy armor like composite mail and tower shields); the effect is amplified when they are made out of more PV-focused materials like diamond. Some armors of inferior material, particularly raw, may decrease DV and PV instead. The defensive properties of armor are displayed as a armor [DV,PV]. For example, a cloth breastplate [2,1] gives the wearer 2DV and 1PV. Certain armor, especially gauntlets, can also provide a to-hit and damage bonus when attacking.
