| Biography
| - Ernie Stierly is a former NASCAR driver from Vancouver, WA. He competed in five Sprint Cup Series events in his career.
Stierly's debut came in 1976, when he competed at Riverside. Starting 32nd in the field of thirty-five, Stierly lasted just twenty-one laps before a transmission issue left him a disappointing 33rd.
Stierly turned it up a bit in 1977, competing in two races that season. He ran solidly when he returned to Riverside, starting last and driving his way to a mid-pack 20th place finish. But he could not match that effort at Ontario, with a drive line issue leaving him 35th.
Stierly's final two races came in 1978, with both coming at Riverside. He had a career-best effort in the January event, starting 23rd and completing all but twenty laps to finish 19th. Another transmission issue, however, left him 31st in June, his final career start.
