The Deutsches Afrikakorps (German for "German Africa Corps"), better known simply as the Afrika Korps, was a German expeditionary force in Libya and Tunisia during World War II. Došli až na hranice Egypta, kde se ale nepohodli na ceně jízdenky dál. Pro nedostatek svého tradičního piva byli v horkém klimatu brzy nuceni kapitulovat před žízní v nádražní restauraci. Rommel z toho onemocněl, a utekl do Německa letadlem.
