The Lin Telepathy Translator, also known as the Lin Telepathy Converter and LTT for short, is an invention of the Linshi Monks of Lin’La’Se to benefit the Lin people. It was created as a means to allow the Lin, who are a strictly telepathic race, to converse with other species and respect the idea that some might find telepathic communication to be too intrusive. The devices come in many forms, but the most popular are in the shape of armbands or belts. Many times those unfamiliar with the Lin will easily mistake the LTT as simple jewelry or decoration.

  • The Lin Telepathy Translator, also known as the Lin Telepathy Converter and LTT for short, is an invention of the Linshi Monks of Lin’La’Se to benefit the Lin people. In order to function, a Lin must send their thoughts to the LTT, which then converts those thoughts into audible sound. LTT's are said to have an effective range of at least twenty kilometers, but in reality the only limit to the range is the how far the user is able to transmit their thoughts. In times of crisis the LTT has even been known to be used as a way to send messages without the aid of a comlink. All LTT's come equipped with a basic volume control and are able to be turned on and off when necessary. Sophisticated artificial intelligence within the LTT bonds the device to its user so that it won't accept any thoughts other than the ones that were first sent to it. The vocoder of the LTT can be adjusted to try and approximate the sound of the mental voice being sent to it. The Linshi have spent a lot of time on this aspect to try and make the voice sound as natural as possible.
