He played junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey Association with Brantford and Paris from 1916 to 1919. After that he played with the senior Brandon Elks from 1919 to 1924. The Edmonton Eskimos of the major league Western Canada Hockey League signed him as a free agent in 1924 and he played there for two seasons. When the league folded in 1926, he was sold to the National Hockey League's Detroit Cougars. Injuries restricted him to only three games in the 1926-27 season.
