The Union Clan Wars was a war fought for the supremacy of the Kig-Yar Union. Fought between a number of would be Pirate Princes and self-styled Kings and Queens, it became a struggle for dominance, to see who would rule the Kig-Yar Union. In the running battles and skirmishes that followed, a number of warlords entered primacy for the position of Grand Prince, a title not held by the Kig-Yar since the Covenant conquered them. The Five main rivals were Dekd Nok, a powerful but unpredictable maniac, the cunning Jor Ruk, Chol Von, a would be revolutionary, the swasbucker Trak F'Kor, and the influential Chaj Gul'Yar.
