  • The High Protector was the title given to the foremost and leader of the Echani martial artists. The rank was reserved for the Echani's greatest champion, and served as the second-in-command of the Echani Covenant, the highest general of the Echani military, and the personal bodyguard of the Prime. Sometimes, but not always, the High Protector would be the eventual successor of the Prime they guarded, such as the case of Lauron Yusanis, who went on to become Avokeiin Prime. It was also not uncommon for the High Protector to be the mate of the Prime, which was a common practice among the Tribe of Yusanis. Unlike the rank of Prime, it was neither difficult nor rare for males to occupy the position of High Protector. It was also very common for Thyrsians, who less frequently vied for the offices of Prime, to hold the office of High Protector. Tessia Jax, one such individual, served as High Protector from even before the outbreak of the Extant War. Arguably the most famous, or infamous, High Protector in the Echani's history was Teyzor Yusanis, husband of Vaxahmul Prime, who very nearly became the first male Prime in Echani history, only to fall from grace following his illicit affair with Jedi Master Arren Kae being brought to light. Teyzor went on to father Brianna Yusanis, who herself would eventually become one of the Lost Jedi, and pave the foundation for the resurrection of the Jedi Order in the aftermath of the Dark Wars and the Jedi Civil War before it.
