Years later, Aquaman once again left Atlantis to travel around the world, until he reached Kako's village and found Koryak being attacked by the Deep Six. Koryak is cornered by the group so Aquaman goes to his rescue and soon Kako reveals that Aquaman is Koryak's father. Eventually, Kako is killed by an energy blast and reborn as a fire elemental named Corona, using her powers to destroy the Deep Six, before leaving Koryak in the care of his father.

In Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis,a young memory less atlantean is manipulated by the Deep Church to kill Dweller-of-the-Depths,so Urlok their god can resurrect. After the funeral of the Dweller-of-the-Depths,Mera accidentally finds his killer and and thinks he looks like someone,Back to the palace she discovers the Koryak's body was stolen,from this she notice that Narwhal was actually Koryak.
