However, he was also secretly conducting homosexual affairs and when a gay actor, Jeff Cantwell, threatened to out him, Sterling's wife Dawn killed Cantwell. Sterling tried to take the fall for this, but when the police discovered that he couldn't have done it, he killed himself.
