The TIE/Ae dive bomber was very similar to the original design in that it had two cylindrical hulls attached to each other. The classic bent wings on the sides were replaced with a single horizontal bent wing on top of the craft. As such, it could not land on planetary surfaces; it used standard TIE racks instead. The armament of the dive bomber was essentially the same as its predecessor; the weapons were two laser cannons and two general-purpose warhead launchers.
