The 1977–78 Philadelphia Flyers season was the Philadelphia Flyers' eleventh season in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Flyers lost their hold on the Patrick Division in 1977–78 and settled for second place. Tom Bladon's 8 points (4 goals and 4 assists) in a game against the Cleveland Barons on December 11 set an NHL record for a defenseman.
