The Lux was a luxury hotel and casino resort on Gilgamesh owned by Emerald Sands Inc. It dealt with several currencies including UNSC cR and offered the usual variety of gambling, such as slot machines, roulette, dice games and popular card games. Although the majority of its guests were civilian, it was also known to have kept a Naval suite for occasional UNSC personnel. During 2525 the SPARTAN-II Gold Team used this suite to capture and interrogate Lieutenant Jonathan Byrne, an informant of the Eridanus Rebels who was privy to visiting the resort.

The term Lux being a unit of illumination, suggests that the casino probably used a selection of wild lights to dazzle and entertain its visitors. Whether it managed to survive past the Human-Covenant War or not is unknown. However the fact that Gilgamesh was not glassed before 2552 makes it likely that the building at least, should remain intact.
