Is this a joke? JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 13:00, 30 July 2008 (UTC) It's very...err...American. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 13:14, 30 July 2008 (UTC) More to the point, it's written in stupid legal language that ordinary people don't understand. You should just do it Wikipedia-style. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 13:16, 30 July 2008 (UTC) Seems kind of silly to me, but if the community wants it then it can stay I guess.--Richard 16:42, 30 July 2008 (UTC) You mean "stagnant" not "stagnate". Wikipedia doesn't. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 17:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC) I really can't see anyone coming up with an argument along the lines of "Oh, I thought the rules didn't apply because they were written in proper English". JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 20:13, 30 July 2008 (UTC) But it doesn't need to be legally binding. This is a wiki - they're almost all founded on common sense and not metamorphosing into genitalia. Yes, over here in England we have legal documents that I cannot for the life of me understand, because they are written exactly the same way they were written 150 years ago. Language develops, but for some reason lawyers do not. Just because they don't realise they're doing it wrong, doesn't mean you have to copy them. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 07:32, 31 July 2008 (UTC) Umm...The constitution didn't make the country. The people did. It was no doubt written correctly at the time, but like I said...Language develops. But legal language, for some reason, stagnates. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 14:24, 31 July 2008 (UTC) You mean "stagnant" not "stagnate". JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 16:49, 31 July 2008 (UTC) IMO this is just a duplicate of Help:Administrators' how-to guide.--Richard 16:57, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
