Tiglath-Pileser III was a leader of the Assyrian civilization during the invasion and conquest of the Phoenician civilization in 740 BC, just five years after he came to the throne in 745 BC. He was but one of many great leaders who arose from the Assyrian civilization. After the Assyrians there was the Chaldeans or New Babylonians in the early 500s BC and the Chaldeans were the last of the Mesopotamian civilizations to exist until Iraq and Kuwait were formed in the 20th century.
