This is the league's third and final season under this name as it was announced in March, 2014 that the league was being merged into the North American 3 Hockey League and would form the league's Frontier Division for the 2014-15 season. The league lost the Missoula Maulers which jumped to the Western States Hockey League shortly after the 2012-13 season ended. The Yellowstone Quake played a full slate of games after playing a limited schedule for the 2012-13 season.
