Monan the Seer was a mythological figure known by the Romulan people. According to the Eridam Papers, legend stated that the seer Monan possessed a little lizard creature which he kept as a familiar. One day while he was away, bandits sought to steal his treasures and entered his abode. When they entered his home, they found the strange creature which attacked them without care for its safety. When Monan returned home, he found the bodies of the seven dead bandits along with his familiar wihch was perilously close to death from the wounds it had recieved.
