When Rakarth was a child his father, also a beastmaster, tried to break the will of a Black Dragon known as Bracchus. Frustrated in his efforts to train the beast the Dark Elf ordered the dragon to be slain. Rakarth made a deal with his father to allow him to keep Bracchus if he could ride it. Rakarth stared into the beast's eyes and the beast stared back; Bracchus, seeing the innate cruelty and bloodlust in Rakarth, recognised a kindred spirit. The steed acquiesced to Rakarth without contest, and he has ridden Bracchus ever since. In 1974 he sacked the Bretonnian city of Brionne.
