The islands in question, the South Seas islands, consists of two islands only described as "an island within the South Seas" during a quest in World of Warcraft. The island is southeast of Land's End Beach in Tanaris. Although not drawn on the world map or the map of Tanaris, they are clearly visible from Land's End Beach. These islands are separated from the mainland by deep water. It is impossible to get to these islands without a special ability or additional help, as fatigue would kill the player before reaching shallow water.

One of the islands is populated by Fire Rocs, hyenas, scorpions, as well as Southsea Pirates. On the second island is a mound of wood and shovels, possibly denoting a buried treasure. It also contains a number of uninhabited Gnomish and Goblin structures and an abandoned goblin oil rig between the two islands.
