The Galata Tower, or the Galata Kulesi, was a medieval stone tower located in the Galata District of Constantinople, north of the Golden Horn. One of the city's most recognizable landmarks, it was a tall, cone-capped tower that dominated the city skyline and afforded a panoramic vista of old Constantinople and its surrounding area.
