The Devourer Legionnaire is the standard foot soldier of the Red Wasp Gang recently encountered by the New Republic in the Skewfar System. The droid's primary weapon is a heavy blaster rifle incorporated into its left arm, which NRI believes to be inspired by the CIS' late super battle droid. It is a rather crude, but powerful weapon with oversized Xciters and weak galvenry circuitry. Consequently, it's bolts are more powerful and less cohesive(and have a shorter range) than the average blaster rifle. The right arm incorporates an integrated flamethrower with enough ammunition for only a few sustained flame bursts. This weapon tends to make the droid extremely dangerous at close ranges. It is a rather crude, but powerful weapon with oversized Xciters and weak galvenry circuitry. Consequently, it's bolts are more powerful and less cohesive(and have a shorter range) than the average blaster rifle. The right arm incorporates an integrated flamethrower with enough ammunition for only a few sustained flame bursts. This weapon tends to make the droid extremely dangerous at close ranges. On its back, the droid carries an outdated, but powerful comm link backpack that allows the droid to communicate long distances, such as from the surface of a world to a ship in orbit. Additionally, the droid is capable of using any weapons and tools that a normal humanoid could use, and it appears to not be uncommon to issue these droids standard grenades as well. The few encounters with the droid seem to suggest that its duraplast panels are reinforced underneath with materials commonly used in blast dampening armor, making them somewhat more durable than the average battle droid.
