Although her progress was hindered by these issues, Kaya nonetheless passed her Trials and became a Jedi Knight Following her first encounter with the Sith, a female warrior, on Yavin IV, in which she was forced to kill her, Kaya began to despise all those affiliated with the Sith, believing that if a person was a member, or was affiliated with the Sith in any way, they should be destroyed. Realizing the Jedi Council would never welcome her extremist ideals, Kaya officially resigned from the Jedi Order. Taking the name of the Dark Crusader, Kaya embarked on a quest to utterly destroy the Sith and wipe them from the galaxy.
