The Woman Customer called into The Kabin a couple of days before Christmas to purchase some fairy lights that she'd asked Mavis Riley to hold for her. She was upset to find that Mavis had sold the last box to Hilda Ogden as the customer had left it for several days before returning to purchase the item and Mavis thought she was no longer interested. Mavis happily volunteered to go to the wholesalers for another set as it gave her an excuse to see Bobby Simpson who worked there and who Mavis fancied, not realising that Bet Lynch had got in there before her.
