As with any community, there are differences in the way that people are and circumstances may change. These attributes are as of learning their magical ability to an extent of a rare ability. With both attributes due to being born with a rare magical gift, or a rare blood line, and ones that are learnt through extensive knowledge and experimentation. On the occasion, with the Vampire and the Werewolf attribute, they are due to being bitten, or turned from their original state to their current enhanced magical state. These attributes are rare and people may spend their entire lives searching or looking for the type of power that comes from them without ever succeeding.

- Every time players level up, they gain 1 point which they can assign to the character attribute of their choice (unless they are above level 100). This feature unlocks at level 10, when all points earned from earlier levels become available. Attribute points can be found under User > Stats (direct link).
- There are five Character Attributes which are fundamental to the capabilities of any character: Strength (STR), Stamina (STA), Agility (AGI), Intelligence (INT) and Wisdom (WIS).
- Every time your character gains a level, you receive five points to spend on your Character Attributes. In Diablo you can also boost your attributes by drinking Elixirs. In Diablo II you are rewarded with 5 attribute points by completing the quest Lam Esen's Tome. In each game, the set of attributes have undergone a revamp.
- Characters have five base attributes, from which all others are derived. A player has a little control over these: different races will have different values for these stats at level 1, and the player is able to distribute 5 points among these stats when creating a new character.

- Characters have five base attributes, from which all others are derived. A player has a little control over these: different races will have different values for these stats at level 1, and the player is able to distribute 5 points among these stats when creating a new character. Each class has one of these attributes as their primary attribute, meaning for them this is the sole base attribute that affects their attack damage. the primary attribute also increases hit chance and spell focus by a very small amount. For archers the primary attribute is dexterity; for mages, intelligence; and for warriors, strength.
