Saviv is the language spoken on the chain of islands known as "Rakanaj" by the inhabitants of the mainland. "Saviv" itself means "common speech", and is the standardized version of the various dialects that once divided the region into independent and sometimes volatile tribes. There are still some fringe communities, alienated by the new language that favored the more powerful tribes, that retain their speech and remain separate from the coalition. For the most part, however, the area is peaceful and cooperative.
