Redbird Two Two was used to insert Dutch and his men into Val Verde before dawn, flying low over the jungle canopy to avoid radar detection. It was accompanied by a second helicopter, acting as a gunship to cover Redbird Two Two during the operation. Upon reaching the insertion point, the pilot found there was no place to set down and so Dutch, Dillon and the rest of the team rappelled down to the ground as the helicopter hovered. Following the successful insertion, Redbird pulled out and headed back across the border to Guatemala.
