| - Operation HARMONICA was an operation carried out by the United Nations Space Command Defense Force on the colony world Kobarid in 2556. The engagement comprised a multi-pronged assault by UNSC forces to surpress Insurrectionist activity in response to a string of terrorist attacks and riots throughout the colony's major population centers, including the capital city New Florence. In addition to the deployment of local armed forces, Task Group 9-Alpha, a nonpermanent subordinate of the UNSC's Ninth Fleet, to further assist in the neutralization of the ongoing civil unrest. After thirty-five days of isolated conflict, mass arrests, civil backfire, and firefights, a tactical UNSC victory was becoming clear, but the operation was bluntly interrupted by the in-system appearance of and subsequent attack by Covenant loyalist forces spearheaded by four ships-of-the-line, including one destroyer. This larger battle came to be known as the Siege of Kobarid.
