The Order of the Golden Lake, named after the House of Aurelac, is an unofficial military order which was originally based in Maar Sul to keep an eye on the outside world and protect the Aurelac's interests. It was founded in early Third Age and had famous members within its ranks such as Amon of Magestar and René Iscariot. Although the Order was decimated in the Yamatian Invasion of Maar Sul, its teachings survived to the Fourth Age when the Order rose anew from the shadows.

Although the Order was decimated in the Yamatian Invasion of Maar Sul, its teachings survived to the Fourth Age when the Order rose anew from the shadows. Led by the Grand Master of the Golden Lake, the knights of the Order are all human and have a vested interest in other races, notably demons of Andaria, who might threaten humankind. How tied their current incarnation is to the present day rulers of the Kingdom of Maar Sul is unknown, but they are actively seeking out like-minded allies from different factions and nations to combat what they view as a growing demon menace. Their methods, however, can be just as ruthless as demons' as they will stop at nothing to stop Andaria's expansion.
