The bullpup layout forces the magazine and bolt behind the pistol grip, causing the rifle to be heavier near the stock.

| - The Stealth Recon Scout (SRS) is bolt-action sniper rifle developed by the American firearm manufacturer Desert Tactical Arms. It was unveiled at the 2008 SHOT Show.
- The Stealth Recon Scout is special for the fact that it is one of the few bolt-action bullpup sniper rifles. Due to its bullpup design, the Scout is very compact, and is claimed to be 11 inches shorter than conventional rifles. The bullpup layout forces the magazine and bolt behind the pistol grip, causing the rifle to be heavier near the stock. The Scout was designed around the .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge, although it is available in three other cartridges (.243 Winchester, .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum.) The cartridges can be changed with a quick conversion. The .338 uses a 5 round box magazine, while the .300 uses a 6 round box and the .243 and .308 use 7 round box magazines. The Scout has a 26 inch match-fluted free-floating barrel. It is said to have half an MOA of accuracy. It uses a 1-6 pound trigger. The rifle is constructed of polymer, aluminum, and steel. The handguard and upper receiver use a picatinny rail system.
