Thimiars were small rodents native to the planet Shili. Oftentimes, they found themselves prey to the species known as Togruta. When the Togruta sank their sharpened canine teeth into the body of their prey, it caused the victim to die quickly yet painlessly. Thimiar were known to have postmortem spasms, giving the impression that it was poisoned. This was the cause of the rumor that the Togruta were venomous, though the Togruta did nothing to dispel this misconception, even taking advantage of the intimidating presence it gave them.

However, one Togruta Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, did not seem to have a taste for thimiars, going as far as saying to her clone captain Rex, that they made her flatulent.
