Novouralsk (Finn. Uusiuralla) is a Uralican city, located in a "cluster" of cities and large towns in Southeast Uralica that also contains Nevyansk, Verkhny Tagil, Neyvo-Rudyanka, and Kirovgrad. It has the distinction of being the largest of the former "closed towns" within Uralica. These were towns whose access was heavily restricted by past governments. However, the concept was declared unconstitutional by the Uralican Tribal Council, hence the city was opened to all upon annexation in 2009. It had previously been a centre for the production of weapons grade uranium and plutonium, but all such facilities were found to have been destroyed. Further investigation showed that this happened during Great War III.

Novouralsk is largely involved in the hi-tech, chemical, and pharmaceutical businesses, and is one of the leading industrial cities for fractional distillation of liquid air, rivalled only by Kirovo-Chepetsk in this regard. Ferrous metallurgy and mining are smaller-scale, but definitely present. Because of Uralican city commerce requirements, a medium-sized commerce and retail sector has developed.
