For centuries, Necrum served as a holy resting place for the Mudokon race, as well as a domicile for the Mudomo and Mudanchee tribes. However, this sacred purpose was violated when the Glukkon organization known as the Magog Cartel established the Necrum Mines, sending enslaved Mudokons to collect the bones of deceased ancestors completely unaware of what the bones were being harvested or used for. Displeased by the Glukkons deeds, three ancient Mudokon spirits known as The Three Weirdos visited the Mudokon messiah, Abe, and begged for him to save Necrum so they could resume their peaceful slumber. Abe then took a group of his friends and sabotaged and liberated the mines, restoring Necrum to its former glory.

It was later revealed that the bones of Necrum had been excavated to serve as a main ingredient of Soulstorm Brew.
