The Dark Corps was created in 35 ABY by Foktir after the death of Menglis. It contained the remnants of Menglis' crime organization, plus the collection of several other smaller smuggling organizations. Its mission was to wreak havoc on Corellia and in the Ter Benix Empire. In 43 ABY, the Dark Corp was nearly defeated when Mavrin located Foktir and used Sith forces to attack Foktir's fleet. The Dark Corp began to plan revenge on Mavrin and at the same time jump start their organization again, so it used its resources to capture the plans for a high tech GA fighter on Ivinobia in 45 ABY. They also succeeded in capturing Kracor's apprentice Decessus, and Foktir used him to track down Mavrin location to Mon Calimari.
