Sir Hubert Percival Lancaster Pitman (19 August 1901 – 19 March 1986) was a businessman and politician. Born in Hampstead, he was the son of Walter Hayward Pitman and Rosa Ernestine née Fothergill. An underwriter at Lloyd's of London, he was a member of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and was admitted to the freedom of the City of London in May 1925. In February 1929 he was elected to the Corporation of London to fill vacancy as a common councilman for Faringdon Within Ward. Both his father and grandfather had been members of the corporation. In 1950 became deputy for the ward and in July 1954 an alderman. He was also Master of the Painter-Stainers Company for 1950 and was awarded the OBE in 1953.
