| - 1.) The first time, Ulquiorra truly felt despair, was not when he realized he could feel nothing. To the contrary, it was when he first felt something. That something was an emotion. When his mask shattered in that white void, he could not only see, but hear the decadent silence, taste the ashes of the fallen, smell the decay of death, and feel the blood dripping from his hands. In that instant, his entire world shattered, and he felt a horrible despair. He emerged, fully formed, intelligent, powerful even. That is because he was not a Hollow. He was not a Vasto Lorde. 3.)

The void he had thought extraordinary, had lost its luster. It was no more pleasant than the sand beneath his feet, or the wind whipping through the air. He realized with startling realization, that he had lost something - nothingness. It was like a jagged knife that had been stabbed through his entire being, poisoning him, drowning him an in endless sea of sorrow. The white void lost its luminescence, every human emotion imaginable clawing at his mind, tearing him apart from within with such intensity he cried tears of blood. In a strange twist of fate with dawning realization, that he now truly embodied emptiness, having lost everything, now he had nothing. With those last fleeting thoughts, the last of his mask crumbled, and all that remained of that one moment were two bloodstained streaks on his face. 2.) Ulquiorra is strange, even amongst the Espada. This is because he is not a typical Hollow. The others were originally humans who gave into despair. They fought, they consumed, and evolved. They survived hoping to reach the pinnacle of their evolution - Vasto Lorde. Ulquiorra however did not fight, he did not consume, nor was he even human to begin with. He emerged, fully formed, intelligent, powerful even. He looked like a Hollow, fought like a Hollow, thought like a Hollow. But he was not a Hollow, not as they understood it. Ulquiorra was the only Hollow born from nothing. He was the only Espada to have evolved into an Arrancar naturally and remain within Aizen's top ranks. He is the only Hollow to retain his regenerative abilities. He is the only Hollow to have developed a second release. That is because he was not a Hollow. He was not a Vasto Lorde. He is something entirely different, perhaps something beyond even that. 3.)
