The Red Hood is beginning to be a major thorn in the side of Black Mask's operations, shutting down supply routes and killing some of his best men. Black Mask wants him dealt with, but feels the best way to do this is to get someone else (i.e. Batman) to get rid of him. Batman, meanwhile, is certain that someone has been returned from the dead, and he is determined to find out how this is possible, consulting various allies with ties to the occult or who have been resurrected themselves. As he does so, the cracks in his relationships with his allies, particularly Zatanna and Green Arrow, are obvious.
