Despite a spirited fightback by Morecambe, who pulled a goal back thanks to substitute Kevin Ellison, Rovers held on to take all three points. The game also so the return to The Mem of former Rovers goalkeeper Lee Jones, who was named among The Shrimps' substitutes.
