George Perdikis was the first guitarist for the Newsboys. He is an original core member, joining in 1985 when they were still "The News". He can be found on their demo, He's Coming Back. He retired from the band in 1987, before they released Read All About It (replaced by Phil Yates). He co-authored some songs on the album, though, including "Listen For the Shout", "Lighthouse", "Hold on Tight", "Never Surrender", "The Big Time", and "Read All About It". He returned in 1989 for a short while to tour with the band in the U.S.
