- David Nutter (born 1960) is a well-known American Emmy winning television director. He first came to attention directing episodes of The X-Files. In the 1990s and 2000s he developed a reputation as 'the pilot-whisperer', as he directed sixteen pilots in a row that went to series, including Space: Above and Beyond, Millennium, Smallville, Without a Trace, Supernatural, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and The Mentalist. In addition he has worked on several other series, including Band of Brothers (for which he won an Emmy Award), The Sopranos and Entourage for HBO.
