Burke inspired the character "Jimmy "The Gent" Conway", one of the main characters in the 1990 movie Goodfellas (Film), played by Robert De Niro. Jimmy Burke died of lung cancer in Roswell park cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, while serving 20 years to life for murder in a New York State Prison. He would of been eligible for parole in 2004. Jimmy Burke is regarded by the FBI as one of the most powerful, richest, and dangerous Irish-American gangsters in history.
