In early July 2015, university students, and members of the Movement for People's Democracy organised a mass protest in the capital city of Brikkstö in protest against the government's actions in Flanders. However, the protest soon became an anti-government protest against the single-party rule of the Socialist Party in Westland. The demonstrations remained peaceful, however became the largest anti-government protests in Westland since the 1920's. This set forward a movement by many Westlandic citizens to begin an initiative which called for the dissolution of the Westlandic People's Republic which was presented to the Chancellor, Oska Stärk on the 25th July 2015. The initiative was later discussed in the National Assembly, and on the 26th July, Stärk and several other high level governmen

| - In early July 2015, university students, and members of the Movement for People's Democracy organised a mass protest in the capital city of Brikkstö in protest against the government's actions in Flanders. The initiative was later discussed in the National Assembly, and on the 26th July, Stärk and several other high level government officials resigned. In response to the resignation of the majority of the Westlandic executive, on the 26th July, on the 31st of July 2015, the National Assembly announced that it would relinquish power of the Socialist Party and dismantle the People's Republic handing over power to the Transitional People's Social Democratic Administration which held de facto power until the constitution was ratified on the 10th August 2015, establishing a people's democracy as the only recognised government of Westland. The pace of change and the topple of the Westlandic government has been noted as unprecedented and unexpected. The Oska Stark released a statement before his resignation stating that he "would bow to the people's will, and he hopes others will too, as without the people there is no governing." It is the only time, other than the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia, that non-violent demonstrations has toppled a government.
